With many other live streamers on Twitch complaining about the recent surge of streamers who pose as their stream is “live” but it is pre-recorded videos that are set on a loop to go on forever. When this is done, the streamer doing this reaps the benefits of what others are trying to earn but these streamers are earning it by not even legitimately streaming. This alone has boosted many streamers viewer counts, sub counts, and advertisement revenue. One of the most popular Twitch streamers that have been vocal about this is Summit1g who holds no bars when voicing his opinion on these 24/7 streamers. After weeks of these 24/7 Valorant streamers taking over the Valorant category, Twitch has finally responded to this. Twitch responded on Twitter saying, “We’ve heard concerns about creators continuously streaming VODs while tagging the channel as “Live” to farm Valorant Drops. This harms the integrity of our Drops Program so we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to clarify that cheating any Twitch rewards system is prohibited.” It is now officially on the Twitch Community Guidelines that you cannot tag your channel as live to abuse Twitch Drops program on any game. Twitch has now made it known that streamers who are doing this type of stream would be violating the Twitch Community Guidelines which usually leads to a suspension when a guideline is not followed.
