UFC Planning Jose Aldo vs Petr Yan for Vacant Bantamweight Title
With the apparent retirement of Henry Cejudo, the UFC has now vacated the bantamweight title. It is now officially announced by UFC President Dana White that he is planning to make a fight featuring Petr Yan vs. Jose Aldo for the vacant title. Petr Yan currently has a 14-1 Pro MMA record with his one loss being a split decision. Yan is undefeated in the UFC with a record of 6-0 with his lastest fight being a KO by head kick against UFC legend Urijah Faber. Many UFC fans are livid with Jose Aldo getting the next shot at the belt because Aldo has lost his last two fights with the lastest fight causing controversy with the decision. There was a lot of speculation on who is fighting for the belt next from Aljamain Sterling (If successful against Cory Sandhagen in UFC 250) or Marlon Moraes but it is now clear as day that Dana White is aiming for a Petr Yan vs. Jose Aldo fight. If this fight gets finalized it may seem that if Dominick Cruz would want to get back a title shot, he would have to fight either Aljamain Sterling or Marlon Moraes to possibly be up next for the belt. Dana White spoke to ESPN about the situation saying:
““I’ll break this right here and right now but my people are probably going to kill me for this one,” White stated. “But Cejudo has retired so we are talking about Petr Yan vs. Jose Aldo for the vacant title. We don’t have a date or a place set for that but that’s the fight we are looking at right now.””
