Aches Calls Out Call of Duty League
Former Call of Duty professional player Patrick “Aches” Price has called out the Call of Duty League for how they have treated Seth “Scump” Abner’s retirement. Aches is happy that they had a massive celebration for Scumps very successful career. Still, he calls out the league for the lack of doing it for other players such as Ian “Crimsix” Porter and Damon “Karma” Barlow. He acknowledges the huge impact Scump has had on the Call of Duty scene saying, “I know Seth (Scumpii) is by far and away the most important (person). You know him and Nadeshot (Mathew “NaDeSHoT” Haag) to the Call of Duty competitive space ever.”
Aches continued the conversation on the Reverse Sweep talk show by Dexerto by saying, “I think its extremely disrespectful that they’ve done this. When I (Aches) retired… nothing when Crim (Crimsix) retired… nothing when Damon (Karma) retired… nothing.” He continued by saying, “Seth (Scumpii) got as he should, as every player should got their moment and recognition. You know a big deal was made a special tribute.” He finishes it off by saying, “There have been a ton of legendary Call of Duty players who have put ten-plus years of their life this space, into making this scene, this community everything it should be and they were never given their flowers by the CDL (Call of Duty League). I feel like when the merge happened from CWL (Call of Duty World League) to the CDL (Call of Duty League) when that transition happened the CDL likes to act like the CWL era and before like pre-2019 and pre-2018 like never happened.”
As a fan of Call of Duty and the Call of Duty League, I found it shocking that the CDL did not give Crimsix or Karma a farewell video or moment. These players are definitely in the top five Call of Duty players of all time and helped form the scene into the Call of Duty League. Crimsix by himself has been to 89 tournaments, 51 grand finals, and the record which will probably never be broken 38 tournament wins. Karma is not that far behind and has been to 71 tournaments, 32 grand finals, and 24 tournament wins. On top of those two players, James “Clayster” Eubanks who has been in the scene for well over ten years has 88 tournament appearances, 32 grand finals, and 18 tournament wins. When Clayster retired I hope and pray that he will get the flowers that he deserves as one of the first followable personalities in the Call of Duty scene with his energetic personality.
