Activision Announces Call of Duty: Mobile $1 Million World Championship 2020
Call of Duty: Mobile has announced that Esports is officially coming to their game alongside the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2020 presented by Sony. They mentioned that they cannot wait to share more details next week but have released some information about this new addition. There will be an open online qualifier event going on from April 30th – May 24th but only players that have a veteran rank or higher can participate in this open online qualifier.
How does this work?
Call of Duty: Mobile explained how this will work in their post saying “For each of the four weekends, once you click “Sign Up” in game, the tournament will go live and the first ten ranked matches you play will earn you tournament points. Tournament points are based on individual wins and your current rank; the higher your rank the more points you receive for a win. If you reach 80 points within the first ten ranked matches in any weekend you qualify on to Stage 2. Players must compete on an eligible handset and may not use an external device or attachment of any kind that modifies the game’s controls (e.g. bluetooth controllers, wired controllers, mouse, keyboard, etc.) without the express consent of the Administration. Players may not compete using any desktop emulator. The Administration reserves the right to investigate any Player deemed in violation. Players who are found to be in violation may be disqualified from participating in any future Call of Duty® Mobile tournaments.”
What are the rewards?
Stage 1 rewards include Call of Duty: Mobile in-game reward for registering, you will be able to continue earning in-game rewards as you earn more tournament points, and if you qualify for the second stage you will earn additional in-game rewards weekly. Stage 2 will require the players to form a team from the players that qualified during Stage 1 and they would need to continue to play their online matches.
