Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: First Look Gameplay Trailer Released

During the Inside Xbox presentation done earlier today (May 7th) Assassin’s Creed Valhalla revealed their first look gameplay trailer. While only a minute and thirty seconds the trailer shows in-engine gameplay. In the trailer, it hints to beach raids, ship combat, and siege warfare. The trailer also shows the Vikings coming up to a castle, with massive battering rams to break down the castle doors. The castle raid seems to be the upgraded version of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s conquest battles. You can see the full First Look Gameplay Trailer below:

Game director Ashraf Ismail did a short interview after the trailer was shown, saying that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will let players “assault giant fortifications in epic battles” this leads us to believe that being able to take castles is in the game. He continued to say that you can make alliances with kings, with this in mind there seems to be some player control for who you want to make friends or foe. Ashraf Ismail also said that the combat had been reinvented saying that it was “visceral and brutal”. During the trailer, you can see that a village is getting burnt to the ground, which is something the Vikings were known to use. Ashraf Ismail also said that there is a fresh take on progression.
