Best Black Friday PC gaming deals: discounts on everything from full PCs to gaming chairs

[ad_1]

Look around you, Black Friday is happening right now. Every retailer on the planet is already pumping out Black Friday deals, and given the struggles with supply and shipping, it makes sense to jump on them early if you want a chance of bagging your tech before 2022 rolls around.

Basically we recommend starting your deal shopping early, because availability may be the watchword this year, rather than just the almighty 'deal.' Tech is only going to become more scarce as we approach the end of the year, so it's the early deals that stand the best chance of getting to you in time. And while there may be some last-minute deals on November 26, there are enough protection schemes from the major players that you won't miss out on grabbing an early bargain either.

One thing you're not going to see this Black Friday is any deals on graphics cards. While the likes of the RTX 3080 and RX 6800 XT are the best graphics cards upgrades we've seen in a long, long time, lack of availability means that these don't need price cuts to sell out. Plenty of gaming PCs built around such cards are out there though, and there are some healthy deals to be had if you're quick.

So there are deals and plenty of them. Maybe not on graphics cards, but plenty of other components are enjoying large price drops. By way of example, SSDs are enjoying some awesome cuts already and system memory is looking pretty tasty too. We're seeing plenty of healthy discounts on monitors and TVs too.

So, it's not all stock nightmares and chip shortage doom and gloom.

Where will the best Black Friday PC gaming deals be?

Samsung 4K QLED (2021) | 65-inch | Quantum Dot | $1699.99 $1,197.99 at Newegg (save $502)
Not to be confused with OLED, Samsung’s Quantum dot displays may use the QLED label, but they’re nothing like the self-emissive OLEDs that are all the rage at the moment. This Samsung TV is still an impressive panel though, backed up with plenty of the tech that’s important for gaming, including HDMI 2.1 support and 120Hz refresh rate.

Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody | 300lb max | 2D armrests | $1,595 $1,355.75 at Herman Miller (Save $240)

This iBuypower gaming PC manages to strike a great balance between performance and value. Packing an RTX 3070 and a Ryzen 7 5800X for under $2,000 is no easy feat, but iBuypower has managed it without cutting any corners. The rest of the spec is on point, with a healthy amount of RAM and storage, and it’s all contained in a vibrant, blinged-out chassis. You even get a keyboard and mouse while saving $240 off the normal price.

HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop | Ryzen 3 5300G | RTX 3060 | $969.99 $919.99 at HP (save $50)
Set the graphics card to an RTX 3060 in the configuration screen, and you can get a 30-series gaming PC for  $919.99—saving $50 on the normal price. You’d ideally want to up the CPU to a Ryzen 5 5600G, RAM to 16GB, and SSD to a 512GB model too, but you’ll soon find yourself way over $1,000 if you do.

OMEN 30L | Intel Core i7 10700K | Nvidia RTX 3080 | 16GB RAM | 512GB WD Black NVMe SSD | $2,349.99 $2,249.99 at HP (Save $100)
For a machine with an RTX 3080 inside, this is already a good price without the discount. When configured with slightly more storage and RAM than the base model (which would have been just 256GB and 8GB respectively), it’s a little more to the average PC enthusiast’s taste. And that’s a WD Black NVMe SSD in there, one of our favourites.

CyberPower Gamer Supreme | AMD Ryzen 9 5900X| AMD RX 6700 XT | 16GB RAM | 1TB SSD + 1TB HDD | $2,289.99 $2,099.99 at Microsoft (Save $190.00)

Alienware Aurora R12 | Intel Core i7 11700F | Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti | 16GB RAM | 512GB | $1,999.99 $1,371.99 at Dell (Save $628)
The RTX 3060 Ti is a little monster of a GPU that can even pump out frames at 4K, and coupled with a top-end 11th Gen Intel processor, you cant go wrong. This one comes with a good amount of RAM and enough speedy NVMe storage to see you through.

It’s not an easy task, buying an RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. That’s why a prebuilt gaming PC is one of the best ways to go, providing you need the rest of the PC parts, too. This is still a high-end build with a high-end price tag, but sadly it’s likely cheaper than building it yourself out of parts. Or at least quicker.

Alienware Aurora Ryzen Edition R10 | Nvidia RTX 3060 | AMD Ryzen 7 5800 | 512TB SSD | 16GB DDR4 | $1,709.99 $1,322.99 at Dell (save $387)
Here we have the Ryzen edition Aurora R10, and while it isn’t the absolute tip-top of gaming hardware, it’s still a very capable machine. With an Nvidia RTX 3060 and Ryzen 7 5800 combo, you can expect to run plenty of games at the highest settings on a 1080p monitor quite happily.

XPS Desktop | Nvidia RTX 3060 | AMD Ryzen 7 5800 | 512GB SSD | 32GB DDR4 | $1,799.99 $1,322.99 at Dell (save $477)
For a machine with a pretty tasty CPU, and a middling current-gen GPU, this XPS desktop is not the worst config. Of course, you’ll likely want to upgrade the SSD as 512GB doesn’t stretch too far nowadays, but it still means you’ll have a nippy boot drive. And that’s topped with 32GB of RAM, so can’t complain.

Dell XPS Desktop | Intel Core i5 11400 | AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT | 8GB RAM | 512GB SSD | $1,399.99 $999.99 at Dell (save $400)
The understated styling of the XPS will appeal if you’re not interested in lighting up your room while playing games maxed out at 1080p. The RX 5700 XT may be last-gen, but it can still pack a punch and the 11th Gen Core i5 is a capable chip for work and play. You’ll need to upgrade the RAM to get the most from the system though.

The Gigabyte Aero 15 is a great laptop that we’ve had a lot of experience with on team. We’ve taken it travelling and used it in the office, and enjoyed its blend of sleek structure and high performance. This model is especially interesting, as though it only comes with a 60Hz screen, it is 4K and OLED. That makes this laptop amazing for creative folks that require the extra screen space.

Dell G15 | 15.6-inch | Intel Core i7 11800H | Nvidia RTX 3060 | 1080p | 165Hz | 16GB RAM | 1TB SSD | $1,518.99 $1,273.99 at Dell (save $395)

Of course, we like this model for its more powerful graphics, especially at only $100 more, but it also offers a decent array of specs to keep you gaming with high frame rates, including an eight-core/16-thread CPU. That’ll do wonders for working or editing on this laptop, and puts this laptop ahead of the GF65 below in our books.

Gigabyte G5 KC | 15.6-inch | Intel Core i5 10500H| Nvidia RTX 3060 | 1080p | 144Hz | 16GB RAM | 512GB SSD | $1,199 $999 after at Newegg (save $250)
We love an RTX 3060 gaming laptop with a discount, and for under $1,000, this is almost as good as it gets. That GPU and CPU combo will make for great 1080p, high-refresh gaming, and while there’s not a huge amount of storage, those can be easily upgraded. At a bit over $217.48 off, this is a fairly good price for a unit featuring a AMD Ryzen 7 5800H chip paired with Nvidia’s new entry level RTX 3050 Ti. It’s a laptop that should handle most gaming while still being understated and useful enough for work purposes. However, as this isn’t a mindblowing deal, it’s worth checking around a bit to see if there’s a better fit for you first.

The XPS 13 is one of our favourite compact Windows laptops. It comes packed into a sleek and smart chassis, and it’s pretty touch given its compact stature. This particular model comes with plenty of RAM and the top graphics chip from Intel’s mobile 11th Gen, which we’ve tested a similar model of ourselves. The SSD is a little slim on this model, but having used the XPS 13 2-in-1 with the same size SSD day-to-day ourselves, it’s not so bad if you’re largely relying on files up in the cloud.

Dell XPS 13 laptop | 13-inch |Intel Core i5 1135G7 | Integrated Intel Xe Graphics | 1080p | 8GB RAM | 256GB SSD | $949.99 $649.99 at Dell (save $300)
This XPS 13 is one of the most portable and bag-friendly Windows laptops around. It folds down to an incredibly slim size, though maintains a high level of durability and quality. We’ve used these laptops plenty, and we really rate them. This one is pretty much as entry-level as it gets, but it’s a decent price for a very well-made laptop that would be great for school.

ASUS VivoBook SB55 | i5 1135G7 | 1080p | 512GB SSD | 8GB RAM | $689.99 $529.99 (save $160) at Staples

ThinkPad L14 Gen 2 Intel | 14-inch | Intel Core i7 1165G7 | Integrated Intel Xe graphics | 1080p | 16GB RAM | 1TB SSD | $2,369 $1,184.50 at Lenovo (save $1,184.50)

Black Friday Gaming Monitor deals

Alienware AW2721D | 27-inch | 1440p | IPS | $1,109.99 $799.99 at Dell (save $310)
This Alienware monitor hits that 1440p sweet spot at an impressive 240Hz refresh rate and a 1ms (GtG) response time. This thing is fast. And at 450 cd/m2 it’s pretty bright too. This would normally set you back $1,110, but right now you can pick it up for a penny under $800. That’s a quality saving on a quality screen.

Alienware AW3821DW | 38-inch | 1600p | IPS | $1949.99 $1,299.99 at Dell (save $650)
From the ‘go big or go home’ school of monitor design, this curved monster is for anyone that wants to hit that truly immersive gaming experience. At 3840×1600 it has the same horizontal resolution as a 4K panel, but it isn’t quite as tall—it’ll still punish your graphics card though. The 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response times, and VESA DisplayHDR 600 round out an impressive overall package.

Acer Predator XB271HU | 27-inch | 1440p | TN | $469.99 $379.99 at Amazon (save $90)
For Acer’s flagship monitor this is a great deal. We hold a special place in our hearts for the Predator. The TN panel may not have the best colours and contrast around, but it’s built for performance. With a 1ms response time and an overclockable 144Hz refresh, you’ll be flying in competitive games.

LG UltraGear 32GN600 | 32-inch | 1440p | VA | $349 $249 at Walmart (save $100)
As we said at the beginning, high-refresh 1440p monitors are where it’s at right now, and this LG UltraGear screen is a great example of why that’s the case. Big, bold, and bright, it’ll make pretty much everything you play look great, and that 165Hz refresh rate will make it silky smooth too. This is a great deal.

Samsung Odyssey G7 | 27-inch | 1440p | 240Hz | 1ms response time | G-Sync | $699.99 $642.22 at Amazon (save $57.77)
Samsung’s G7 is a popular screen, and that’s no doubt thanks to its great panel quality and high refresh rate. It’s definitely not the cheapest 1440p monitor going, but for that extra cash you get a great build quality and rapid speed, perfect for competitive gaming. It also supports both Nvidia and AMD variable refresh rate technologies.

Samsung UE57 | 28-inch | 4K | TN | $349.99 $290.18 at Amazon (save $59.81)
You know we said don’t settle for a 60Hz or a TN panel? Well, here we are recommending both in just one panel, but this is a 4K monitor from a good brand at a really tempting price, so we’ll make an exception. A 28-inch panel at 3840×2160 makes for a pleasing 157ppi and if you need to work as well as play, then 4K does make for a more productive time.

Samsung LS34 | 34-inch | 1440p | VA | $399.99 $249 at Walmart (save $150)
The refresh rate of this 3440×1440 panel may only top out at 75Hz, but this is still a lot of gaming monitor to throw your games to. The 21:9 aspect ratio lends a sense of the epic to everything you do, and with FreeSync support as standard, you’ll enjoy a smooth experience in your games. That $120 saving is nothing to be sniffed at either.

Samsung T350 | 1080p | IPS | 4ms response time | $189.99 $149.99 at Best Buy (save $40)
Now we’re talking cheap monitors, let’s look at the Samsung T350 on offer at Best Buy. This is actually a monitor we’ve come in contact with a lot, as Jacob has a pair of these at home. These don’t offer the most amazing picture quality in the world, but if you’re looking for a cheap way to buy two monitors at once, this is it.

Samsung 4K QLED (2021) | 65-inch | Quantum Dot | $1,699.99 $1,197.99 at Newegg (save $502) Not to be confused with OLED, Samsung’s Quantum dot displays may use the QLED label, but they’re nothing like the self-emissive OLEDs that are all the rage at the moment. This Samsung TV is still an impressive panel though, backed up with plenty of the tech that’s important for gaming, including HDMI 2.1 support and 120Hz refresh rate.

Vizio OLED55-H1 | 55-inch | OLED | 4K | $1,299.99 $1,199.99 at Best Buy (save $100)
This 55-inch 4K television was a big hit in the sales last year, and it’s already enjoying some money off right now. The 120Hz refresh rate and support for HDMI 2.1 mean you can plug your consoles into it as well as your PC and enjoy some big-screen gaming.

Black Friday NVMe SSD deals

WD_Black SN850 | 1TB | PCIe 4.0 | $229.99 $164.99 at Newegg (save $25)
Out of all the next-gen PCIe 4.0 drives we’ve tested, this is the one that stands out as offering the absolute best performance around. It runs a bit on the toasty side, so you’ll need good airflow in your system, but once you’ve got that sorted you’ll enjoy incredible performance in your games. Newegg is offering this drive at the lowest price yet, just make sure to apply the promo code SSDEUT95 at checkout.

Samsung 980 Pro | 1TB | PCIe 4.0 | $229.99 $184.99 at Amazon (save $45)
Samsung’s premium next-gen internal SSD may not top the charts, but it’s still a solid performer and has enjoyed some healthy price cuts since its launch. Strong 4K performance and solid real-world performance make for a quality option, particularly at this price.

Seagate FireCuda 530 | 1TB | PCIe 4.0 | $249.99 $209.99 at Newegg (save $40)
The FireCuda 530 is one of the fastest drives around but is held back somewhat by its high price. With the SN850 and 980 Pro offering roughly the same performance but for a lot less, it’s been hard to unreservedly recommend Seagate’s drove. This $40 saving helps on that front, and if you’re looking for some super speedy storage, this won’t disappoint.

WD_Black SN850 | 2TB | PCIe 4.0 | $529.99 $339.99 at Amazon (save $190)
The fastest NVMe SSD you can buy today also happens to be a bit of a steal right now. With a massive 36% saving off its list price, you can enjoy speedy access not just for your OS, but for all of your games as well. This is the stuff dream machines are made of.

Samsung 970 Evo Plus | 2TB | PCIe 3.0 | $329.99 $229.99 at Best Buy (save $100)
It wasn’t that long ago that this was the overall best SSD you could get your hands on. While we’ve had faster PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs recently, this is still a decent buy, especially at this price. 2TB of speedy NVMe storage will cover you for a good chunk of your steam library, and it’ll make Windows fly too.

WD_Black SN750 SE | 1TB | PCIe 4.0 | $139.99 $99.99 at Newegg (save $40)
This Special Edition take on the SN750 supports PCIe 4.0, although the throughput of 3,600MB/s is only just better than the best PCIe 3.0 drives. It is however a decent price for a 1TB SSD that offers decent 4K read and write performance. Not the fastest drive around, but at under $100, it’s not a bad deal by any means.

Kingston NV1 | 2TB | PCIe 3.0 | $199.99 $144.99 at Adorama (save $55)
This is absolutely a budget NVMe SSD, but one that rolls in at such a good price that it’s almost impossible to ignore. The performance won’t trouble other NVMe drives, but it’ll still leave any SATA drive eating dust. It’s DRAM-less and fairly barebones, but for the money, you can’t really complain.

Black Friday SATA SSD deals

Samsung 870 QVO | 2TB | SATA | $229.99 $184.99 at Best Buy (save $45)
Admittedly not a massive saving at just $45 off, but this is still a good price for a big ol’ chunk of SSD storage. If you’re looking to boot the hard drives out of your rig, then this is one of the more affordable ways of doing so. Samsung’s a good brand, and while the 870 QVO is nothing to get excited about in terms of performance, it’ll serve you well.

Western Dgitial Blue | 1TB | SATA | $189.99 $89.99 at Best Buy (saving $100)
Best Buy may be pushing it a bit with that saving as this drive hasn’t been that much for years, but this is still a 1TB SATA drive from a respected brand for under $90. It’ll outperform a hard drive any day of the week, and it won’t be as hot or noisy when doing so. Reads peak at 560MB/s with writes a little slow at 530MB/s, but both are close to the interface’s maximum throughput.

Black Friday External SSD deals

Adata SE800 | 1TB | USB 3.2 | $179.99 $99.99 at Amazon (save $80)
This is our fave external SSD even when it’s selling at its normal price, so with this chunky 33% saving, it’s a steal. Seriously speedy reads and writes, impervious to dust and water, and all for a bargain price. You’ll do well to find anything better right now—you will need a speedy USB 3.2 port to get the very best from it mind.

WD_Black P50 | 1TB | USB 3.2 | $249.99 $199.99 at Best Buy (saved $50)
This speedy external SSD managed to grab the second-place slot in our external SSD guide recently, making it a quality offering. Great overall performance and a sleek, rugged casing make it a great performance drive for console and PC gamers alike.

Black Friday Gaming Chair deals

Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody | 300lb max | 2D armrests | $1,595 $1,355.75 at Herman Miller (Save $240)
Herman Miller x Logitech G Embody is one of our favorite gaming chairs. It has incredible back support, cooling material for active gaming positions, and a 12-year warranty. It’s pricey, but worth it.

DXRacer Master | 353lbs max | 4D armrests | $629.99 $528.89 at Walmart (Save $101.1)
It’s not the easiest thing to put together, but the DXRacer Master has earned a place among those on our best gaming chairs guide for a reason. It’s not the cheapest option but its the most modular, highly ergonomic and we’re totally convinced it could survive a nuclear blast.

Vertagear PL1000 | 2D armrests | head cushion | up to 330lbs | $329.99 $279.99 at Vertagear (save $50)
This chair is a fairly simple beast, but that means you get the basics done well and none of the fluff. Head cushion, back support, and a selection of nicely stitched finishes compliment the PL1000’s price.

Vertagear SL5000| 4D armrests | head cushion | up to 330lbs | $459.99 $389.99 at Vertagear (save $70)
The Vertagear SL5000 offers all the features you’d expect from a gaming chair at this price, and that means plenty of adjustability and style. One thing it offers that others don’t, however, and it is an expensive optional extra, is RGB LED lighting around the top of the chair. I mean if that’s your style, it certainly has a unique selling point. It is $239.99 on sale, though. Ouch.

Razer Iskur | 299lb max | 4D armrests | $499.99 $379.99 at Best Buy (Save $120)
Razer knows what it’s doing when it comes to good quality peripherals, and its chairs are no different. With a loud green trim and subtle snakeskin design, the Iskur is a distinctive gaming chair, from a trusted brand.

Anda Seat Kaiser 2 | 441lb max | 4D armrests | $499.99 $349.99 at Amazon (Save $150.00)
The Kaiser 2 is one of the top dogs on our best gaming chairs guide. The main drawback is some minor armrest rattle, but otherwise it’s a great, well-built chair, and perfect for the bigger-framed gamers among us.

Black Friday gaming microphone and streaming deals

Razer Seiren Mini | USB | Supercardioid | $49.99 $34.99 at Amazon (save $15)
The Seiren Mini is the mic I have sat on my desktop right now, and it’s a beauty. It’s a little lozenge of microphone joy for the casual user, with a price tag to match. You can get it in white or pink, too, but the biggest discount is on this unassuming black version. It’s a super-simple mic, using the internals of more expensive options within a basic package. I mean, there’s not even a mute button…

Shure MV7 Podcast Microphone | USB or XLR | Unidirectional Cardioid | $249 $219 at Amazon (save $30)
This is our favorite microphone and is on sale for the cheapest price we’ve ever seen. Sure, the Shure MV7 at $219 sure ain’t cheap, but it’s a mic capable of impeccable sound reproduction on an almost professional level. The fact it offers both XLR and USB connections are proof positive of that, too.

Blue Yeti Nano | USB | Multiple pickup patterns | $99.99 $59.99 at Amazon (save $40)
Blue mics have been the gold standard for streaming microphones for the longest time, and the Yeti Nano carries on that tradition with an affordable, accurate, but simple design that packs all sound quality of the Yetis that have gone before it. And it’s got a great name. Makes me think of a tiny abominable snowman, and that pleases me.

Elgato HD60 S Capture Card | 1080p | 60 fps | $179.99 $129.99 at Amazon (save $50)
This is our pick of the best capture cards around for its ease-of-use and general all-round power. It’s capable of capturing up to 1080/60 making it perfect for any capture and streaming you might want to do without the massive overheads of a 4K resolution.

Elgato HD60 Pro | 1080p | 60 fps | $170.99 $99.95 at Amazon (save $71.04)
The HD60 Pro might just be the step-up in quality you need to take your recordings to the next level. It’s the perfect beginner’s capture card and will take the encoding load off your GPU at bitrates up to 60 Mbps.

Black Friday Gaming Mice deals

EVGA X17 gaming mouse | 16,000 DPI | 8K Hz polling rate | $79.99 $39.99 at Newegg (save 40%)
EVGA recently decided to do away with the more traditional 1,000Hz polling rate in favour of an 8K one, which it says is that much faster for competitive gaming. The X17 is the wired mouse with said high polling rate, and it’s a pretty nifty mouse besides that, too.

Razer Naga Pro | Wireless | 20,000 DPI | Right handed | $149.99 $109.99 at Amazon (Save $40)
Another of our favourites, this is a nice weighty option. One that comes with three interchangable side plates for a host of play-styles. Just make sure you don’t lose the cable because nothing else fits.

Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed | Wireless | 16,000 DPI | Right-handed | $59.99 $36.99 at Best Buy (save $23)
Wireless shouldn’t mean expensive, and in the case of the Razer Basilisk X Hyperspeed wireless mouse, it doesn’t. Especially with this deal over at Best Buy. You can also rest assured this is a high quality mouse from a reputable brand with a great ergonomic shape.

Razer Viper Ultimate | Wireless | with dock | 20,000 DPI | Ambidextrous | $149.99 $97.06 at Amazon (save $52.93)
With swathes of battery life, and a… razer sharp sensor (sorry) this super light mouse comes in at 74g and can be wielded in either hand. It’s one for the competitive gamer’s who like to fling their rodent about the place.

Logitech G203 | Wired | 8,000 DPI | Right handed | $39.99 $31.50 at Amazon (21% off)
Already listed as the best cheap gaming mouse around on our best gaming mouse guide, this is a great choice for people just starting out, or who’ve already blown their budget on high-powered components, but who still want to go with a trusted brand.

Razer DeathAdder V2 Mini gaming mouse | 8,500 DPI | 62g | $49.99 $44.99 at Razer (save $5)
A lightweight and compact mouse with a great sensor. Though it’s not got the highest DPI in the business, it boasts great ergonomics and decent build quality, too—there’s not much more you can ask for that price.

Razer Basilisk Ultimate | Wireless | Charging dock included | 20,000 DPI | $169.99 $131.99 at Best Buy (save $38)
If you want to go all out on your gaming mouse, the Razer Basilisk Ultimate is the way to go. It’s a fan favourite, and we’re big fans too, although clearly it’s a lot pricier than your average gaming mouse, even a wireless one. With the included charging dock, though, you can take the hassle out of charging your battery.

SteelSeries Prime | 18,000 DPI | 80g | $129.99 $90.99 at Amazon (Save $39)
It’s not a huge saving on this wireless rodent, but for the competitive prowess it exhibits, it’s certainly worth a look. The TrueMove Pro sensor is great, and it’s nice and light for FPS players looking to fling it around the mouse pad.

Black Friday Gaming Keyboard deals

Corsair K100 | Optical Mechanical linear switch | 4K Hz polling rate | per-key RGB | $229.99 $189.99 at Amazon (save $40)
Top of our best gaming keyboards, this opto-mechanical wonder is super responsive, and nicely premium when it comes to build quality. For under $100 it’s certainly worth a look, though you’ll have to get both Elgato and iCue softwares to make it work. Still, the only other downside was the price. Not so much right now.

EVGA Z20 | Optical Mechanical linear switch | 4K Hz polling rate | per-key RGB lighting | $174.99 $74.99 at Newegg (save $100)
This EVGA keyboard is a bit of a steal at $74.99, as it’s one of the more recent arrivals from the company and fully mechanical. That said, it has tracked at this price for a few months on Amazon, but that doesn’t make it any less of a deal today if you’re in the market.

SteelSeries Apex Pro | Omnipoint adjustable | $199.99 $163.46 at Amazon (Save $36.53)
A full size Apex pro with omnipoint adjustable key switches will see you right at this price. We’ve singled it out as the ‘best gaming keyboard for per-key actuation,’ so it’s for those who hold speed as a top priority.

SteelSeries Apex 5 | Hybrid Mechanical Blue | per-key RGB | $99.99 $66.94 at Amazon (save $33.05)
If you like the look of the Apex Pro but can’t quite stretch your budget, the Apex 5 is a good alternative. It uses a switch that’s, at its heart, a membrane switch, but has some mechanical feel thanks to a hybrid construction. That’s where you save some cash, but otherwise it offers a lot of what you’d find on the Pro.

Logitech G413 | Mechanical Romer-G switch | USB Passthrough | $89.99 $59.99 at Amazon (save $30)
Logitech has put together a very safe keyboard in the G413, and one we’ve come to appreciate for its simplicity and function. It’s mechanical, using Logitech’s own Romer-G switches, and is built to last. Only thing is it’s available with red lighting and not RGB. I know that’ll be a dealbreaker for some, but for a mechanical keyboard it’s great value.

Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition Chroma V2| Orange Switch (tactile) | $139.99 $125.99 at Razer (save $14)
The BlackWidow Tournament Edition offers a compact and plush board for when mouse maneuverability is key.

Havit mechanical keyboard | Red silent | $59.99 $42.99 at Amazon (save $17)
A 60% keyboard with boatloads of style, and PBT keycaps. We don’t know these red key switches it’s touting, but they’re rated at 50 million keypresses. And silent ones too, so none of that clicky-clacky nonsense.

Black Friday Gaming Headset deals

HyperX Cloud II | 15–25,000 Hz | Closed | $99.99 $87.13 at Amazon (13% off)
As the wired version of the Cloud II, you don’t get the same freedom as the wireless model, but you still get some supreme quality cans. And with a detachable mic, 7.1 surround, and a sturdy, light frame, these will see you right in comfort.

Razer BlackShark V2 X | 12–28,000Hz | Closed | $59.99 $39.99 at Best Buy (save $20)
With a spectacular range of sound, and impeccable comfort this is already a great headset, and that’s without mentioning its understated look with sharp, distinctive Razer green accent. Along with 7.1 surround sound, all this makes for a cracking deal.

Razer Kraken V3 X | 12–28,000Hz | Open | $69.99 $49.99 at Amazon (save $20)
If you’re after a lightweight, stylish headset for gaming, these will see you right. They can be a little inconsistent, but the mic top tier, you’ll be gaming in incredible comfort with these babies strapped to your brainhole.

Steelseries Arctis 9X | 20–22,000Hz | 20hr battery life | $199 $147.88 at Walmart (Save $39.20)
It may not have the surround sound capability of the Arctis 7, but the mic trumps its sister model no contest. The Arctis 9X also has cross-platform compatibility, so you can use it on your PS5 or XBox series X, too. And being wireless is an extra win.

Razer BlackShark V2 Pro | 12–28,000Hz | 24hr battery life | $179.99 $149.99 at Walmart (save $30)
The BlackShark V2 Pro is the pro version of the headset at the top of our list. With a banging frequency response and the added convenience of a wireless design, we cant recommend these enough.

Black Friday CPU deals

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X | 3.8GHz | 8-Core| AM4| Cooler not included| $449.99 $329.99 at Micro Center (save $120)
$150 off makes this the cheapest we’ve ever spied the 8-core AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, so if you’re in the market, definitely jump on this while you can. Even without such a hefty discount, this chip is a seriously good deal for gaming and content creation.

AMD Ryzen 9 5950X | 16-core, 32-thread | 105W | $799.99 $745 at B&H Photo (save $54.99)
If you need true CPU power, then this is the processor you want. It’s still a big pile of cash for a processor, but if you’re a gamer that also has a creative bent, then this will pay for itself quickly enough. 3D rendering, video encoding, and raw number-crunching all benefit from the huge amount of cores on offer here. That it’s an awesome gaming chip as well is just the icing on the cake.

AMD Ryzen 7 5700G | eight-Core, 16-thread | 65W | $359 $329 at Best Buy (save $30)
This isn’t a massive saving, to be fair, but given you don’t need a graphics card with this capable APU for some light gaming, it’s still a decent bargain. You get a full-fat eight-core, 16-thread chip that will handle serious tasks every bit as well as more expensive offerings. We liked this chip a lot when we reviewed it. It comes with a cooler too.

Intel Core i3 10100F | four-core, eight-thread | 65W | $129 $91.99 at Amazon (save $37.01)
There was once a time when a four-core/eight-thread CPU such as this would’ve ruled the lineup as the top Core i7. Those days are over, and have been for a while, and now you can find a chip that’s equally as good for gaming under $100. Pick up a cheaper 400-series chipset and you’ll be able to build a more than capable gaming PC with this at its heart. Just bear in mind you will need a discrete GPU for this, as there’s no iGPU on the chip.

Intel Core i5 11600K | six-core, 12-thread | 125W | $268.99 $239.99 at Newegg (save $29 with promo code 93XSC87)
Of all the 11th Gen chips, it was the Core i5 11600K that stood out to us as a good deal for gamers. That said, it’s recently been replaced by the more capable Core i5 12600K, though you can’t find that for anywhere near as cheap. Bonus here is you can also save cash on a cheaper motherboard, so it’s all-round a great pick for a budget PC.

Intel Core i7 10700K | 8-core, 16-thread | 125W | $349.99 $329.99 at B&H (save $20)
Intel’s 8-core 10700K is still a force to be reckoned with in gaming. While the newer Core i7 12700K should give it a run for its money, it won’t be found for this little for a long ol’ time. Might be worth considering this chip then, if you can’t make your budget stretch any further.

Intel Core i9 10900K | 10-core, 20-thread | 125W TDP | $493.66 $484.17 at Newegg (save $9.49)
You might look at the 10900K and think it’s getting on a bit with Intel’s 12th Gen arriving on the scene, but it’s a more than capable 10-core processor. It’s actually our preferred choice compared to the 8-core i9 11900K, and the saving, however small, can go towards a compatible Z490 motherboard.

Black Friday RAM deals

Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB | 2x 8GB | 3200MT/s | C16 | $102.99 $67.99 at Amazon (save $35)
This is a great memory kit for both AMD and Intel-powered machines, with a decent speed and low latency. It’s not quite the rapid pace of DDR5, which has now entered the scene, but it’s a great kit nonetheless. The price of this kit fluctuates weekly, but this is a low asking price for this RAM over the past year.

When is Black Friday 2021?

Black Friday 2021 will be on November 26, one full day ahead of last year’s date. That means Cyber Monday will fall on November 29 after a retail-heavy weekend.

Last year Black Friday almost lasted from the end of the delayed Prime Day in October. It will be a similar story this year, with everyone, from Amazon to Newegg keen to lock in sales early to avoid shipping problems. So expect specific Black Friday deals and offers to start earlier than ever.

What deals can I expect on Black Friday 2021?

Obviously, Black Friday deals on graphics cards are off the table for another year. I mean, being able to buy one for anything near MSRP would be a start. But you will be able to find the latest GPU silicon in either a pre-built gaming PC or a new gaming laptop, and a few deals have already started to appear on that front. Intel has just released Alder Lake CPUs too, which should mean price cuts on 11th-Gen PCs too.

Along with the news that there will be new Ryzen CPUs early next year, last-gen Intel and AMD processors could be cheaper too, in order to clear older stock from the inventory of retailers. With an imminent price correction on memory expected soon, we might see some other component deals, as well.

The arrival of DDR5 might also make DDR4 kits more affordable, and there seems to have been a glut of great SSDs deals.

Screens are another regularly discounted commodity around Black Friday, and we doubt this year will be any different. This means both the best gaming monitors and the best TVs for gaming could get some tasty deals, too.

And there will always be gaming mice and keyboards on sale come Black Friday too, so they’re worth taking a look at. It’s a great time of year to treat your butt to a quality gaming chair as well, which tend to enjoy some healthy price cuts this time of year.

What should I avoid buying on Black Friday 2021?

Anything you don’t need. It’s distressingly easy to be duped into dropping cash on something just because there’s a hefty discount attached to it… even though you have absolutely no use for it.

If you’re considering making a purchase around Black Friday, have a plan of attack. That probably sounds needlessly aggressive, but you need to know what you actually want to buy first or you’ll end up with no end of crap. Cheap crap, maybe, but crap nonetheless.

Do some research on the products you’d like to pick up in the sales (we offer detailed hardware buying guides), and maybe some alternatives in case those don’t pop up. Set yourself a strict budget too.

Products like graphics cards and processors have obvious tiers (though the different companies work damned hard to make product names as confusing as possible), and SSDs have rated speeds, but for peripherals, it’s tougher to tell from the specs whether they’re worth the money. Checking for reviews, from such luminaries as ourselves, should guide you on your way, and checking price trackers such as CamelCamelCamel will let you know if a deal’s more than just skin deep.

Are there any Black Friday tips and tricks?

If you haven’t already used it up during a credit card splurge around Amazon Prime Day, then you ought to take the opportunity to sign up for a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime. That will get you early access to the Lightning Deals, and help you grab some of Jeff’s best deals of the day. It will also net you free shipping on a host of products and speedy delivery too, and at the very worst it’ll be handy when it comes to bagging some last-minute Christmas gifts for that aunt you always forget about.
